2020 Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody was a major car in F9 and Fast X. It was driven by Dominic Toretto. The car's 6.2-liter V8 engine delivers 707 horsepower and 650 foot-pound of torque.

History

F9

After Dominic Toretto's Crew arrive in Montequinto, Dom at some point acquires the 2020 Hellcat (possibly even being his own that he brought with him) and uses it to drive to the crash site of Mr. Nobody's plane. When the crew are ambushed by the military who are guarding the area, Dom escapes in the Hellcat and uses it to break Letty's fall when she's thrown off her bike by a military car.

After coming face-to-face with Jakob Toretto in his 2015 Ford Mustang GT350, after he steals the device Dom and Letty found on the plane, Dom chases after him with Letty now beside him. The car causes multiple landmines to detonate and Jakob drives his car off a cliff and is caught by a magnet plane.

To cross the border and get out of the military's jurisdiction, Dom activates the NOS tank and the front wheel of the Hellcat latches onto a rope from the bridge which throws Dom's car across the ravine and onto the edge of the border where the car rolls over and is destroyed. As the military call of their attack, Letty calls the experience "new".

Fast X

Dom acquires another Hellcat to use in Rome after discovering that Tej Parker, Ramsey, Roman Pearce, and Han Seoul-Oh were being setup for a terrorist attack by Dante Reyes. Dom drives the car through the city, following Dante's bomb ball which he is piloting through the city to cause destructions to frame the family for. Dom manages to stop the ball at the Spanish steps, but Dante triggers it to move again and Dom chases the bomb to the Vatican where he uses a nearby crane to knock the bomb into the water, mitigating the bombs effects. As the bomb detonates, the Charger gets caught in the aftermath and is destroyed.

Behind the Scenes

  • While most Dodge Chargers of that generation are fitted with an automatic transmission as standard, this particular example in the movie is shown to have a manual one along with an added clutch pedal.
  • The Charger appears to have wheels from the Challenger SRT Demon.
