- "In Tokyo I was lost. And then one day, Mr. Nobody came calling."
- ―Han Seoul-Oh to Dominic Toretto's Crew
The Attack on Han Seoul-Oh was an unsuccessful attempt undertaken by Deckard Shaw to kill Han Seoul-Oh in Tokyo. On the other hand, it was a successful mission by Mr. Nobody who used the attack to fake Han's death so that he could protect Project Aries and Elle Lue.
Background
Prior to Fast & Furious 6, Gisele Yashar once worked alongside Mr. Nobody while the latter was in the CIA. Mr. Nobody was aware of the connection between her and her boyfriend, Han Seoul-Oh. After Gisele's apparent death, Han, who had since become a prominent Tokyo street racer and business partner to Takashi, was approached by Mr. Nobody and offered a job to recover half of the Project Aries device that was being held by its creators. Whilst Han was recovering the device, the creators were killed by operatives sent by Otto. However, Han saved their young daughter, Elle Lue, from being killed. Additionally, Jakob Toretto, one of Mr. Nobody's agents went rogue and joined forces with Otto.
Knowing that Jakob was the rogue agent and that he was going to send people after Han to recover Project Aries, Mr. Nobody decided to fake Han's death so that he and Elle, who was the key to unlocking Project Aries, could go into hiding where Jakob couldn't find them. Mr. Nobody was aware of an incoming enemy who was coming after Han and used that to his advantage.
After learning of his brother's comatose state, Deckard Shaw travelled to a military hospital in London where he visited his brother, fighting his way through the hospital and killing multiple special forces. After making amends with his brother, Deckard vowed to take revenge and left the damaged hospital.
Deckard then travelled to Los Angeles where he infiltrated the office of the Diplomatic Security Service to obtain the files on the "team that crippled his brother", after engaging in a fight with DSS agent Luke Hobbs. which lead to him becoming bed ridden in hospital after jumping out of a window to save the life of Elena Neves. Shaw then traveled to Tokyo to locate and kill Han.
In Tokyo, Kamata confronted Takashi and told him that Han was stealing money from them, without either of them knowing. Takashi confronted Han at his garage. Instead of denying the accusations from Takashi, Han simply says that they're true. Takashi pulls out his gun, but Twinkie closes the garage door allowing Han to get into his Mazda RX-7, and Sean Boswell & Neela into his Mitsubishi Evo.
Attack
- "Dominic Toretto. You don't know me. You're about to."
- ―Deckard Shaw to Dominic Toretto
Whilst in Tokyo, Deckard obtained a 1992 Mercedes S-Klasse and observed Han. On the night, Han is forced to flee from his garage with Sean Boswell as they are being chased by Takashi who wants revenge on Han for stealing money from Yakuza.
Unbeknownst to Han, he was being tracked on police scanners by Deckard who drove through streets of Tokyo to find Han. After finally locating him at an intersection near the Shibuya district, Deckard turns down a street and T-Bone's Han's car, making it look as if it was an accident caused by running a red light. Deckard stepped out of the car, unaware that Sean and Neela were watching him, and left Dominic Toretto's cross necklace behind, before calling Dom right as the car exploded.
Unbeknownst to Shaw, Takashi, Sean and Neela, Han was a hologram setup by Mr. Nobody whereas the real Han was standing on the side of the road observing the events with Mr. Nobody. As the car exploded, Mr. Nobody exclaimed that that hard part was keeping Han dead (hidden).
Aftermath
- "There's things I've done that I have to make amends for."
- ―Deckard Shaw to Hattie Shaw
While the attack on Han was believed by all to be successful, Han stayed hidden underground with Elle, protecting her and Project Aries.
In order to set things right, Sean Boswell walks on over to the Yakuza hideout using the money he and Twinkie earned as passage. There he finds Neela and about to be pummeled again by Takashi but was stopped by his uncle Kamata. Sean not only hands the money over to Kamata as apology but also propose a final street race against Takashi. Winner stays in Tokyo and the title of DK, loser gets banished forever. Unbeknownst to Sean, Takashi picks the race location at his mountain since he is only one to make it to the bottom as stated by Twinkie.
Deckard returned to the United States to take revenge on the rest of the team, Dom first encounters him after they run their cars into each other in a game of chicken. Shaw then infiltrates Dom's mission to rescue Ramsey and then follows him to Abu Dhabi. Eventually they both return to LA where Dom and Shaw fight on the top of a parking garage. Shaw becomes trapped in the rubble after the garage collapsed and is taken into custody by Hobbs.
Three years later, Deckard was broken out of prison by Mr. Nobody to help the team stop Dom and Cipher, Deckard eventually makes amends with Dom and the team after saving his son's life and they part ways, with Deckard presumably returning to London.
Whilst in London, Deckard reunited with his sister, Hattie Shaw and Hobbs where they undertook a mission to stop Brixton Lore, Deckard eventually told his sister that he needs to make amends with the people he has hurt, and make up for the things he has done, including seemingly killing Han.
Five years after the attack, Project Aries was stolen and Dominic Toretto's Crew learn that Han has been working with Mr. Nobody. Mia Toretto and Letty Ortiz traveled to Tokyo to find out more information where they meet Elle and are attacked by agents who are killed by Han. Mia, Letty, Elle and Han returned to the rest of the crew where Han reveals that he is alive and where he has been.
During Dante Reyes' revenge-plot, Han, Tej, Ramsey and Roman approached Shaw, needing weapons and cars as Dante had drained their bank accounts. Upon approaching Shaw, he believes Han has shown up for revenge and fights him, something Han did not want to do.
