Diogo was a professional street racer in Rio de Janeiro who crossed paths with Dominic Toretto's Crew after they challenged him to a street race to win his Porsche 996 GT3 RS, which they win. He also aided the team against Luke Hobbs and the Diplomatic Security Service.
A decade after, he welcomed Dominic during his return to Rio and participated in a street race in which he was murdered in an explosion caused by Dante Reyes.
Biography
Early Life
Much of Diogo's early life is unknown but presumably he has lived in Rio de Janeiro his entire life. At some point, he joined the Brazilian street racing scene where he met and befriended Isabel Neves, another Brazilian street racer and the sister of Elena Neves. Diogo became one of Brazil's most proficient street racers, holding the title in races he won in his Porsche 996 GT3 RS.
Meeting Dominic Toretto
In 2011, Diogo was made aware that the Diplomatic Security Service was hunting down Dominic Toretto and his crew due to a failed heist that involved stealing cars belonging to warlord Hernan Reyes. At a car meet one night, Dominic and Brian O'Conner arrived in Dom's 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, looking to win a car from one of the racers that they can use for their heist to steal Reyes' money.
Diogo's blue Porsche catches the attention of Brian and they settle on winning that car. Diogo introduces to them and reveals he knows who they are and that Luke Hobbs and the DSS are looking for them. Dom challenges Diogo to a race, which he agrees to, which results in Dom winning the blue Porsche off of Diogo.
A few nights later, Diogo aids Dom and the crew in standing against Hobbs and the DSS at a car meet. Whilst Dom and the crew spread themselves out and capture the attention of Hobbs, he arrives with the DSS to arrest the team. However, Dom tells Hobbs that they weren't in the U.S. anymore and he had no authority over them, telling him that "this is Brazil" resulting in Diogo and the rest of the Rio street racing scene pulling guns on the DSS, outnumbering them.
Realising he is beat, for now, Hobbs instructed his team to stand down and they leave. Unbeknownst to Hobbs, the distraction also allowed for Tej Parker to hide a tracking chip on his car.
Dante Reyes' Revenge
Reuniting with Dom
Ten years after the Rio Heist, Dom returned to Rio for information on Dante Reyes. He attends a street race where Diogo welcomes him back with open arms and offers to do whatever he needs for him. When Dom notices one of the attendees call in Dante, Dom reveals that he already did something for him. Diogo introduced Dom to Isabel, who held resentment towards Dom for getting her sister killed while the latter was in Cipher's custody.
Death
Dante arrives at the race with his men and introduces himself formally to Dom. They argue about Dom stealing Reyes' money and then Dante's men turn their guns on Dom whilst the other attendees, including Diogo, turn their guns on Dante. Dom proposes a race to which Dante agrees and the pair, along with Diogo and Isabel race. Unbeknownst to Isabel and Diogo, Dante had his men plant explosives on their car and as the race ensues, Dante reveals to Dom that the issue with having a big family was having to choose who to save before triggering the explosive on Diogo's car, resulting in Diogo's death.
