Escape from L.A. is the first episode of Season 2 of Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and the ninth episode of the show overall. It was released on Netflix on October 9, 2020.

Synopsis[]

When the Spy Racers make a big burst in LA, they learn about a secret operation in Brazil and plead with Ms. Nowhere to let them go undercover.

Plot[]

Echo, Cisco, and Frostee wait for a man, who arrives to trade a hard drive in exchange for cash. However, he tells Echo she was right in not trusting him, and reveals he had the group surrounded. The kids are able to take down the men, and Echo pursuits the man, who now ran from the building. As the man escaped by jumping directly before a train passed, Echo told Ms. Nowhere that he had taken their bait. While listening to the man's conversation, they found out the man ordered the hard drive to be taken out of the city at that instant. Ms. Nowhere also realized the SH1FT3R crew now had a new gig. As the group raced towards the gang, Tony Toretto joined them, jumping from a jet.

Tony attatches his car to helicopter

Tony managed to grab hold of the helicopter Pizza Rave was escaping on with his car.

The teenagers chased the Sh1ft3r crew, who split up. After each of the teenagers took down the person they were following, they found "PizzaRave" had the hard drive, but she had managed to get away, with a helicopter picking her up. Tony raced in order to get to her, and was able to shoot a grappling hook from his car, which allowed him to board the helicopter. As he got in, he told PizzaRave to stand down, but she refused, shooting the grappling hook with a laser which sent his car to the ground, causing it to explode. In a sudden movement from the helicopter, Tony pushed PizzaRave out of the helicopter, but jumped after her with his wingsuit making her rescue possible.

With the GPS coordinates on the hard drive Tony Toretto's Crew was able to find stolen goods, and broke up SH1FT3R. As they celebrated, two men jumped from inside a big container. The man had a tattoo, which Gary stated had the possibility of representing a gang or just being cool. He was told by Ms. Nowhere to be quiet, and she also told the teenagers to forget about the incident.

Tony and his crew discuss Brazil with Ms Nowhere

Tony Toretto's Crew tried to convince Ms. Nowhere to let them go to Brazil.

Later, when the crew asked questions about the man, she told them the man might be linked to international criminals trying to set up shop in Brazil. When Tony asks if they are going to Brazil for their first international investigation, the crew starts cheering, but Ms. Nowhere tells them that Interpol has it handled. Tony wonders why whenever investigations are outside of L.A., they are suddenly removed from the investigation, to which Ms. Nowhere replies that they know nothing of international investigations. Tony begs her to let them go to Brazil, but she refuses as she does not want to lose another agent, which shocks Frostee. Ms. Nowhere gets to the point and tells them that she will be on assignment for some time, and tells them to do things they used to do before they were spies. When Tony tells her he does not have a car, Ms. Nowhere offers to pull some strings in order to get him another vehicle, which ends up being an old, white van. Tony is not amused, and his friends agree with him.

As Tony goes to the taco truck, Mitch arrives with a new car. The man at the taco truck notices he has the same van Tony has, and asks him if he is going to the van rally the following week.

Frostee in shock

After hours of the formula not reacting, Frostee was shocked to see it about to explode.

In his house, Frostee gets a flower delivered to his house, which he is going to use to help with the tattoo the man had, in order to understand a synthetic formula. After letting the solution rest for a few hours, he causes an explosion. He is told by his mothers to clean up the mess and the restaurant, which he willfully agrees to, much to their surprise. The following day, Frostee tells the crew about the formula and how it had blown up and messed with his mind.

When they tried telling Ms. Nowhere, she got angry, but admitted the whole heist for the hard drive was to find the man in question. She also remembered they had managed to stop a smuggling ring. When she tried hanging up on them, Frostee asked what the formula was for, which confused Ms. Nowhere, though she pretended to know in front of the crew. She asked Gary to check the man's tattoos, telling him to look for a formula. When Gary went to check on the man, he had hidden on top of the cell, and knocked Gary out, managing to escape. The man stole Mitch's new car.

Tony forces man onto van

After chasing the man, Tony was able to force him into his van by opening the doors and throwing the van at the man.

Gary woke up unconscious to a call from Ms. Nowhere only to find he was locked in the cell. He suggested Tony and his crew could help, but Ms. Nowhere would not listen to him. However, Ms. Nowhere eventually asked the teenagers to find the man in exchange for information on the case. They found the man was travelling to Mexico. They decided to land on the highway with their cars dropping from a jet, which Dominic Toretto had done before. After a chase, Tony managed to stop the man and force him onto his van, causing all the people around him to cheer, as they were in the van rally.

After capturing the man, Ms. Nowhere told the crew a weapon had been smuggled into Rio de Janeiro, rumored to have the ability to throw everything into chaos. Since they had found out about the formula and caught the man twice, Tony felt it was appropriate for them to be sent to Rio. Ms. Nowhere told the crew the reason she did not want to send them to Rio was because the last agent she had sent there was Layla Gray, and now they did not know about what had happened. However, Tony mentioned they would do everything to get her back. Ms. Nowhere was convinced and told them to pack their bags for Brazil.
