"Hey, there's the girl I've heard so much about. Where you been at, ghost girl?"
―Iggy Azalea's line in Furious 7[1]

Iggy Azalea (born Amethyst Amelia Kelly) is an Australian rapper and model. She appears in Furious 7 in a brief cameo and is featured on the various artists soundtrack for the film.

Biography

Role in Furious 7

During the promotion of Guardians of the Galaxy, actor Vin Diesel announced that he had finished working with Azalea for her cameo role.[note 1][2] It was later reported that she would have one line in the film.[1]

Azelea assumed that she would have a "flag" scene in the film (similar to Rita Ora in Fast & Furious 6), but instead learned her character was the lead of a "monster truck crew" and a friend of Diesel's character, Dominic Toretto.[3] Azelea stated that her cameo took an entire day to complete. "Just for me to say two lines it took like 16 hours of setting up and going over and I definitely have an appreciation for actors now," she said.[3]

Following the premiere of the film on April 3, 2015, fans of the franchise criticized her appearance brief appearance in the film, claiming that she had "ruined the film".[4][5]

Furious 7 Soundtrack

In the Various Artists soundtrack for Furious 7, Iggy Azelea collaborated with Whiz Khalifa for the soundtrack's focus track, "Go Hard or Go Home".[6][7]

Notes

  1. Vin Diesel: "Iggy Azalea and I just worked together two weeks ago. I guess you’re the first person to know this. We cast her in ‘Fast & Furious 7’. She had a cameo in it.”
