The Liberation of Ramsey was a successful operation run by Dominic Toretto's Crew to liberate the hacker Ramsey from Mose Jakande's organization.
Background[]
After the destruction of his house, Dominic Toretto chases Deckard Shaw from Han Seoul-Oh's funeral into an underground parking garage. The two race their cars, a Plymouth Road Runner and 2014 Maserati Ghibli, toward each other and crash into each other's cars. Dom and Shaw come face-to-face for the first time and the two almost come to blows until they are interrupted by Mr. Nobody's Covert Operations Organization who were sent to Dom by Luke Hobbs, albeit Mr. Nobody was aware of Dom's presence as he used to work with Dom's younger, outcast, brother Jakob Toretto.
Mr. Nobody brought Dom back to his base where he introduced him to a hacking device called God's Eye and the hacker who created it, Ramsey. Dom is then introduced to Mose Jakande, a warlord who was after the hacking device and has since had his team kidnap Ramsey. Mr. Nobody gives Dom an offer that if he helps him recover God's Eye and Ramsey from Jakande, he'll allow him to use God's Eye and all of Mr. Nobody's organisation to find Shaw. Dom agrees but that he'll do it his way, with his crew. Mr. Nobody agrees and Tej Parker, Roman Pearce, Brian O'Conner and Letty Ortiz are all brought to the base where they discuss the plan.
The team pick out a series of cars, a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T, a 2012 Subaru Impreza WRX STi GH, a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z28, and a 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT to use for the operation. The only way onto the section of the Caucasus Mountains where Jakande's organization is moving through is via an air drop.
The Event[]
The team load their cars onto a jet and are flown over the Caucasus Mountains. Using parachutes equipped to their cars, the team drive out of the plane and parachute to the ground below, except for Roman who did not release his parachute in time. Dom, Brian, Letty and Tej meet Jakande's convoy and begin to take out the assisting cars and get onto the bus where Ramsey is being held. Brian boards the bus and locates Ramsey but is interrupted by an attack from Louis Kiet, Jakande's right-hand man.
As Brian attempts to rescue Ramsey, the team is intercepted by Shaw who has been tracking them and he and Dom go off-road to challenge each other. The two drive across the edge of a cliff and Dom is able to knock Shaw off the side of the mountain, with the assistance of Roman, who catches up to them. Brian's fight with Kiet comes to a halt when the driver of the bus is shot dead and the bus turns onto its side and slides to the edge of a cliff. Kiet traps Brian in a bus, after helping Ramsey get into Dom's car, and is just barely able to jump off the bus, and onto the back of Letty's car, before it falls off the cliff.
As Dom escapes with Ramsey, he is trapped on the edge of the mountain by more of Jakande's organization. He comes face-to-face with Jakande who is with the convoy and Jakande instructs his team to take out Dom. This is all witnessed by Shaw who intended on taking Dom out too. Dom drives off the cliff and avoids Jakande's men and his car is eventually destroyed when he reaches the bottom of the cliff, albeit keeping him and Ramsey unharmed. Brian, Letty, Roman and Tej meet Dom at the bottom of the cliff.
Aftermath[]
The team take an unconscious Ramsey to a rendezvous point and she gives away that she mailed God's Eye to a friend in Abu Dhabi. Brian questions her on why she was so willing to give them the information and she reveals that, as opposed to Jakande's team, she trusts them. Dom tells the team they are heading to the Middle East and instructs Tej to relay the information to Mr. Nobody. At the same time, Shaw approaches Jakande and the two strike a partnership to take out Dom together.
