"The air quality here is lousy, the traffic is bad, but I think you'll learn to like this place."
Brian O'Conner to Jack[src]

Los Angeles, officially the City of Los Angeles, and often referred to as LA, is the largest city in the U.S state of California and the second largest city in the United States of America.[1][2]

History

1990's

Sometime after 1991, following Dom's release from Lompoc Prison after nearly beating rival racer Kenny Linder to death with a socket wrench, Dom challenged his younger brother Jakob Toretto to a street race after Dom blamed Jakob for his role that inadvertently resulted in the death of their father Jack Toretto after Jakob tampered with Jack's car. Jakob lost and was forced to leave Los Angeles.

2001

The Torettos continued to run Toretto's Market & Cafe, which serviced their neighborhood. Other than Dom's crew, Brian O'Conner was also a regular customer at the cafe. Additionally, Dominic's relationship with the store The Racer's Edge, an automotive parts store, was such that when he saw Brian fighting with Vince, he could call the store's manager and have him fired. Dom and his crew had also been involved in a series of truck robberies around Los Angeles within a span of four months, prompting a joint investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Brian going undercover to determine if Dom and his crew were the perpetrators.

Turbo-Charged Prelude

Following Dominic's escape, Brian was wanted for obstruction of justice as well as aiding and abetting. He fled Los Angeles, driving through multiple states and participating in several street races for money. His road trip eventually took him to Miami, Florida, where he settled down for a while.

2009

After Dominic and his crew were found guilty for their truck hijackings, Dom, Leon and Vince fled Los Angeles, with Vince heading to South America and Dom fleeing to Mexico, with Letty going after him. Mia, however, remained in Los Angeles by herself for many years, living at the Toretto family home. After calling Dom to tell him Letty was seemingly murdered, Dominic returned to Los Angeles through the U.S-Mexico border.

Although Brian and Dominic were later smuggled with their cars to Mexico, they used a tunnel to get back to the U.S to Los Angeles, and then again to return back to the U.S. when they go to Mexico again. After Arturo Braga was arrested, Dominic was sentenced 25 years-to-life for his past crimes at Lompoc Maximum Security Prison, at which point Brian and Mia broke Dom out of this prison bus and fled Los Angeles, becoming fugitives themselves.

Brian is flown back to Los Angeles

After finding out that Braga once worked with international criminal Owen Shaw, Brian had his old FBI rival Michael Stasiak arrange for him to fly to Los Angeles as "T. Bridges", and be placed inside Victorville, a prison in California. After finding out what he needed to know, Brian left before his fingerprints were scanned to the national database and his true identity was revealed. Following the completion of their mission to take down Owen Shaw's Team, Luke Hobbs managed to get official pardons for the whole crew. With their records being cleaned/erased, the crew make their way to Los Angeles once more, with Dominic reacquiring their old house.

2014

Dominic, Brian, Mia and Jack are still living in the Toretto house in Los Angeles following their pardons from the DSS. After their house was blown up by Deckard Shaw, Dom sent Mia and Jack to the Dominican Republic for protection, while he and the rest of the crew worked with the Agency, a covert ops organization, to apprehend Shaw.

After finding out Shaw and terrorist leader Mose Jakande were hunting them with the God's Eye, they team decided to fight them on the streets of Los Angeles where they had the advantage and to allow Ramsey to regain control of the God's Eye from a close range. Other than Shaw and Jakande, Kiet also attacked but Brian gets his revenge and defeats him. Thanks to Brian, Ramsey was able to take back her device. In the aftermath, parts of the city were damaged by the drone and missile attacks before Jakande was killed and Shaw was arrested.

2019

After receiving a call from his superiors, Luke went to a tattoo parlor shop in Los Angeles where he defeated Tsoi's henchmen before pressuring Tsoi for information, threatening to tattoo his forehead if Tsoi gave a response he did not like. After Tsoi claimed he did not know anything, Hobbs tattooed "I ♡ COPS" on his forehead while Tsoi screamed. After relenting and giving Hobbs the information he wanted, Tsoi demanded his employer to inform him of what his new tattoo denoted. The next day, Hobbs went to a diner to have breakfast with his daughter, Samantha. During breakfast, Hobbs was shown a family photo of him and his brother Mateo Hobbs back home in Samoa. However, following MI6's decision to issue a kill order on Hattie Shaw, the CIA enlisted Luke and Deckard with locating Hattie and securing The Snowflake. CIA agent Victor Locke interrupted their breakfast, divulging sensitive information to Samantha in the process. Hobbs then left Los Angeles and traveled to London.[3]

2020

After the Montequinto Recovery Mission and the successful mission to secure Project Aries from Otto, the crew returned to Los Angeles where they shared a barbecue and awaited the arrival of Brian O'Conner. Following her escape after the Project Aries mission, Cipher continued her vengeance towards Dom and his team and planned new ways to kill them. She setup a new headquarters in Los Angeles where she continued to surveil the family.

2022

Before 2022, the Toretto House in Los Angeles was rebuilt, allowing Dominic to live there peacefully with Letty and Brian Marcos. After Dom teaches Brian a lesson about driving, they return to the house with the other team members for another lunch, where Dom's grandmother, Abuelita Toretto gave a speech about the massive family they've built and the many obstacles they've went through on their missions.

That night, a wounded Cipher travels to the Toretto House to warn Dom about the threat posed by Dante Reyes, the son of fallen drug kingpin Hernan Reyes who seeks retribution on Dom and his family/associates for the Vault Heist in Rio de Janeiro a decade prior. Despite the hostile meeting, Cipher explains that Dante turned her own operatives against her and that he would come after them when she refused to join forces with him due to their different interests. The next morning, an Agency team under Little Nobody arrive and take Cipher into custody. After Little Nobody told Dom and Letty that there was no mission in Rome and learned that it’s a trap, the trio head there to rescue their crew while Dom has Mia keep an eye on Little B.

After Dom and his crew were framed as International terrorists by Dante following a bombing that devastated a portion of Rome, Aimes, the de-facto leader of the Agency who was decrypt a double agent working for Dante, ordered anyone connected to Dom to be arrested and set out a bounty. An Agency team was dispatched to the Toretto House to capture Mia and Brian. After Mia tells Brian to hide while she fights off the agents, she was overwhelmed until Jakob arrives and helps her take out the other agents. Mia sent Little B to be with Jakob whilst she returned to Brian and her kids as they and the rest of Dom's crew and allies are in danger and hunted by their new enemy.
