That advice goes both ways, and all of that can be fixed with minor tweaking (not that it effects the appearance of page in the least whether or not br uses a forward slash. It doesn't, but I get the want for cleanliness).
As it is, the page is meant to reflect the rest of the movie pages, whose cast is separated by "Principal" and "Supporting". In addition to that, you broke several citation links by simply mass removing them.
Hey Lily. I'm Brandon from Fandom's Community team. By now you may have seen our announcement about Wiki Modernization and how we're using featured wiki videos to reduce the number of ads on the site and improve the performance of all Fandom wikis.
We're planning on producing featured videos for The Fast and the Furious Wiki now that The Fate of the Furious has been released. Right now we're planning on doing character videos for Dominic Toretto, Deckard Shaw, and Owen Shaw. These will be videos with some footage as well as images and on-screen text highlighting the best character moments for these characters.
We'd love to have you, other admins, and users give input on the scripts and best moments if you're interested in that level of participation.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks!
For the record, I don't think this is functional or good idea, As an admin, I don't like that I don't have an option to opt out, largely because I feel like whether or not the video-ads were viable should've been discussed with me and my co-admin(s), considering we could properly decide if we didn't think the site would benefit from it.
Hey Lily, sorry for the delay in replying here. I think I missed the notification for this somehow.
Videos with ads in front of them are something that we need to have on our top communities and pages in order to remove a lot of the ad clutter that plagues the site. In doing that we can improve page performance across all of Fandom. That includes here. That's the benefit to the wiki: pages look better (fewer ads) and load faster.
Why do you feel using featured videos is not a functional or good idea?
Hi there! I wanted to reach out and see if you'd be interested in a wiki spiff? I've spoken with Murali9395 and they seem to be okay with it. What I'd do is create a new background skin, add mobile friendly polls, activate discussions, create a more image centric movie gallery, and balance out the page so that one side isn't longer than the other. Of course, anything and everything I change is subject to your approval and can be reverted at any time. Get back to me when you can!
We were asked about this earlier, maybe a couple months ago. Our initial stance was uncertain, but, yeah, sure, I don't see the harm in a a spiff now since we had time to think about it. Will there be any noted downtime while the Wiki is being updated?
Okay, I've gone ahead and made the proposed changes. Let me know what you think and please feel free to edit/revert anything that isn't to your liking. I would like to create new banners but I'm unsure what type of font you used. If you could let me know, I could do my best to recreate them. Look forward to hearing your thoughts!
You're referring to the transparent text banners on the front page, right? I bought the "Antique Olive" font and worked from there. I dunno if there's a identical version available for free, however. But, right now, I think they're alright as is, unless there was something you intended on doing to replace them?
That said, I like the new background skin. It's current and its definitely more appealing than the original. I also think the semi-transparent look also works to alleviate the dark design. The minor redesign on the front page works as well. I think the poster images work a lot better than the general text font thumbnails I had going on. And the minor reassignment of some things on the front page definitely makes it look a lot more organized.
Hey! So I created this Fast and the Furious quiz and was wondering if you'd feature it on the main page of the wiki? We could keep it up until Monday and then I'd remove it. Check it out and let me know if you think your wiki users would be interested in it.
Hi again! Thank you so much for letting me feature that quiz on the main page! I just wanted to let you know that I'll be removing it now (unless you want to keep it up) and returning the Featured Article module as promised. =]
I'm the founder of Fast and Furious Brazillian Wiki, and I'm here to ask for your permission to translate some pages from here to my Wiki. Don't worry, I will put the copyright of this Wiki on my. I love Fast and Furious, and I'd like to pass this amazing content for the Brazillians. And since the information here is excellent, I would like translate then to my Wiki.
So your copy-paste from Wikipedia is better than my research and linking job? Explain me why you haven't just add to my job your presentation? Where you what to put the list of song not in More Fast and Furious? That songs actually appear in the film.
I don't spend all day here on the Wiki. I have other places I tend to.
That said, your editing job on the page you created was not in line with the soundtrack page created for Furious 7 which is the standard for what Soundtrack pages should look like, so, as an admin I corrected the issue.
If you're going to take personally admins and other people editing behind you when something isn't aligned with the rest of the Wiki, then you're going to have problems here and elsewhere.
EDIT: I reverted the edit on the 2001 Honda S2000 page. The URL is reading as an invalid link.
I don't take it personally. I just don't understand why you deleted all my job. It was not all bad. You did not answered to my question. Anyway what's wrong with the Suki's 2000 honda s2000? Do you want a photo of the official car guide I bought?
Also, while I appreciate your contributions, your edit to the "More Fast and Furious" was all just track listing, whereas Lily's revision was more akin to the standard of the other pages.
Additionally, I might also ask that you try to make your edits on one page within a couple of edits, and not 12-15 different edits on the same day on the same page minutes apart from one another. It clutters the page history.
I'm ok with the fact that her job was more akin to the standard but she deleted also the list of the additional songs that actually appear in the film. Aren't that songs qualified to stay on this wiki? There isn't a dedicated page for that songs, so I can't understand why.
Sorry for the several different edits on the same page. I'm new on the wiki world! I will do my best.
I'm not 100% certain. There's conflicting information between the specifications that's been provided in the official car guides for The Fast and the Furious, and the specification and year or model info that car websites offer in overview pages. I'm personally inclined to trust the info that was provided by the movie's car guides, but at the moment I can't the locate the copy I bought a while back.
I just thought that swapping a 3.1 to earn only 0,1l was a bit foolish. Also considering that the engine is boosted with a t66 turbo... it isn't very useful to add 0,1l to the engine. Anyway if you found that spec in the official car guide that's ok. I've learned something new.
Hi there! I wanted to reach out and ask if you'd be interested in a wiki spiff? I'd create new main page headers, a new background skin, update the movie gallery,
and update the main slider.
I'd also like to activate Discussions on this wiki. Check out the [Westworld] discussions and play around with this new wiki feature. I'd also like to swap out wiki polls for more mobile friendly version such as Pollsnacks. Now if you want to learn how to use Pollsnacks, I created this How-to Guide for you admins to use as reference so that you can see how easy it is to make the switch! http://bit.ly/2cPq8xh Feel free to check it out and contact me if you have any further questions.
Let me know if you have any questions about any of this and if you're interested in a spiff. =]
