Roberto is a hired hand of Carter Verone who was tasked to observe Brian O'Conner and Roman Pearce during their job to deliver several stashes of drug money to Verone.

2 Fast 2 Furious[]
Roberto was a hired accomplice of Carter Verone who worked alongside Enrique and Monica Fuentes, the latter being an undercover U.S. Customs agent. It is also known that he does not know how to drive. He was seen when Verone hired several street racers for an audition race to get a package from one of Verone's boatyards in exchange for employment under Verone.
Later, Roberto was charged to observe recently hired drivers, Roman Pearce and Brian O'Conner. On one occasion, he and Enrique kept tabs on Roman and Brian while they were at Tej's Garage. Annoyed by this, Roman pretended to clean their car's windshield before lighting it ablaze.
Later, he and Enrique confronted Roman and Brian over the act and searched their boat before Verone broke up the fight, stating that Roberto and Enrique would be driving with them to retrieve Verone's money. After getting the money and evading the Miami Police Department to meet up with Verone at Tarpon Point, Roberto was secretly ordered by Verone to kill Roman after the money was delivered. However, thanks to Monica's intel, Roman was able to outsmart Roberto on the way there and ejected Roberto through a NOS-improvised ejection seat, causing Roberto to fly out of Roman's car and into a lake, unharmed.
