Samantha "Sam" Hobbs is the daughter of Luke Hobbs.
Biography[]
Hospital Visit[]
When Hobbs was hospitalized for injuries sustained after his fight with Deckard Shaw, Samantha was brought to the hospital to see him, presumably remaining with him until morning. She met Dominic Toretto, who visited the hospital after he was contacted by Elena Neves. When her father brought up sponge baths, she protested the very mention.
Hobbs introduced Samantha to a very confused Dominic, who was unaware that Hobbs had familial connections. Not intimidated by Dominic, Samantha boasted that Hobbs beat Dominic in a fight. Dominic assures her that Hobbs's recollection is muddled by the painkillers he's likely on. Samantha challengingly dismissed that as she is then escorted from the hospital room by Elena.
Later, when Dominic and his crew return to Los Angeles, one of the radio towers in the city was destroyed by Mose Jakande. Samantha took notice of her father, who mentions Dominic by name and breaks off the cast on his arm. Once he's dressed and armed, Samantha gives her father a fist bump for the road.[1]
Three years later, Samantha was introduced with her soccer team. They face off the other team with a New Zealand haka before starting the game. According to Mr. Nobody, she is mentioned that was staying with her paternal aunt until further notice after her father was recruited into a new mission to stop Cipher after Dom seemingly defected from his crew. After Cipher's escape, she was seen in the new apartment to join her father and Dom's crew for lunch, Hobbs decided to retire from his job so he can spend more time with his daughter.[2]
Meeting Locke[]
Two years later, Samantha had breakfast with her father at a diner where she explained that for her social studies class, she had to make a family tree, although the tree only consisted of herself and her father as she has no knowledge of many go her other family members, including her mother. She then met Victor Locke of the CIA, who revealed sensitive information about the Snowflake and rogue MI6 agent Hattie Shaw to her, with Samantha finding Hattie pretty.
Snowflake Mission[]
While holding Hattie in custody, Samantha spoke to her father over the phone and does so again shortly after Hobbs briefly became a fugitive, having been painted as a murderer due to Eteon's ownership over several media outlets. For her safety, Samantha is remanded to her paternal aunt's Lisa's custody. After the Battle of Samoa, she was brought to Samoa to meet her paternal family for the first time, especially her grandmother.[3]
