The Patroness is the seventh episode of Season 2 of Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and the fifteenth episode of the show overall. It was released on Netflix on October 9, 2020.
Synopsis
As a plan comes together to unleash the formula on an unsuspecting public, the Spy Racers scramble to stop it.
Plot
Ms. Nowhere tries leaving the forest with Echo in order to stop Rafaela in Rio. Meanwhile, at Rafaela's base, Frostee is testing the formula per Rafaela's orders. She orders the tanks to be filled up in the new tanks immediately, and sends Frostee back to the group.
Tony and Layla are brought to Rafaela, who is trying a new outfit on. She takes a selfie with the gang, and tells everybody it had been a year since she had been "killed". She sprays Tony and Layla and is able to manipulate them.
Ms. Nowhere plans to ambush Rafaela by pretending to be under the effects of the formula, which Echo does not like.
Rafaela told Tony and Layla her plan before the race.
Rafaela brings the formula to the annual race between the favelas, and tells Tony and Layla that she would leave the people racing poor. She tells both of them her plan is to spray everyone with the formula after the race, during which, people would never know she was racing.
Frostee looks out and sees Ms. Nowhere and Echo get out of the hauler. Echo had handcuffs on her, which led Frostee to believe that Ms. Nowhere, still under the influence of the formula had caught Echo. He uses a laser to cut through the door, and Gary and Cisco help him by pushing against it.
Ms. Nowhere asks the whereabouts of her team, and learns Tony and Layla were taken to the race. She is able to free the team, who at first believes she is still under mind-control. However, they soon learn she is not anymore, and she alone takes care of the guards. To further prove that she's no longer under mind-control, she states if it were the opposite, Gary would be on the floor with two broken kneecaps, crying for his mother; everyone looks to Gary, who affirms that Ms. Nowhere is definitely in the clear. They then go to the race in order to stop Rafaela.
At the race, all the competitors get ready. Rafaela orders Tony and Layla to keep everyone off her tail so she could win the race.
Cisco and Ms. Nowhere were able to make the hauler jump over the unfinished bridge.
Since Cisco and the rest of the crew were being followed, Ms. Nowhere ordered Frostee to get his drones working, and told Echo to jump on the cannon. Due to their coordination, and all the equipment the hauler had, they were quickly able to get rid of everyone, but were soon followed by more. The persecution stopped when they got on top of an unfinished bridge, which they managed to jump over with afterburners.
During the last lap, Rafaela orders Layla and Tony to line up behind her so she could win. However, they do not follow orders, and reveal they lied about being mind-controlled since Frostee made an antidote based on his favorite drink: Yoka. She called Rocha, and told him to release the formula, but was shocked to learn everyone had escaped.
As Cisco, Frostee, Ms. Nowhere, Echo, and Gary neared the race, they were being ordered to stop by police, but Cisco decided to go through the police cars, and a tank. The hauler was shot at by the tank, but it covered itself before the missile reached it, allowing them to effectively move past the blockade.
Rafaela was able to make the formula explode and consume Rio, taking it under her control.
During the race, Layla had reached Rafaela, who thought they were friends until Layla reminded her that she had been under the influence of the formula. Soon after, Rafaela was able to shoot at a building and flip Layla's car. Tony asked her if she was alright, and she confirmed she was. Tony took a shortcut, and got in front of Rafaela in order to stop her from getting to the truck with the formula. This caused Rafaela's car to soar and lose control when it landed. She was able to reach the truck, however, causing a big explosion.
She revealed she was alive to all of Rio, and declared everyone would follow her orders. The first order she gave was to capture Tony and his crew.
