The Yakuza is a transnational organized criminal organization that originated in Japan.
History[]
Kamata's Influence[]
Kamata possessed a great deal of influence over the criminal underworld of Tokyo. At some point in the past, he used his influence to claim Tokyo's street racing as his "turf" and put his nephew Takashi in charge as part of the family business, who eventually became known as the "Drift King" of Tokyo's racing community.
Partnership with Han[]
After the supposed death of Gisele Yashar during the mission to stop a team of international criminals led by Owen Shaw from completing a Nightshade device, her boyfriend Han Seoul-Oh moved to Tokyo afterwards to honored her promise. There, he formed a partnership with Takashi while also establishing a garage and finding solace in the city's drifting community, establishing his own crew to help with his business operations and street racing ventures.
Han's Secret Theft[]
Soon, Takashi realized that Han had been stealing money from his uncle and confronted Han with Morimoto. However, Han fled with Sean chasing after Han to protect him from Takashi and Morimoto. While Takashi pursued Han through the congested streets, Morimoto attempted to ram Sean off the road, only to meet his end when he had a fatal collision with another vehicle. As the chase continued through Shibuya, Han's car was t-boned by an incoming Mercedes and burst into flames, seemingly killing Han. The crash was orchestrated by Deckard Shaw, the elder brother of Owen who was seeking revenge on Han due to his affiliation with Dominic Toretto and their mission that resulted in Owen being crippled. Unbeknownst to anyone, Mr. Nobody and the real Han were observing the scene. In reality, Han's death was faked by Mr. Nobody, who previously tasked Han with a mission to protect Elle Lue, the daughter of a scientist couple whose DNA was the key to activating a dangerous weapons program called Project Aries.
